Personal PR for Small Businesses Oftentimes when thinking about public relations, my mind goes directly to a huge corporation with lots of franchisees and employees. In reality, any business despite its size can benefit from positive public relations. In this position paper, I wanted to explore tips and things to consider and keep in mind to help grow and elevate small businesses, REACH OUT TO THE COMMUNITY Add a small business owner being able to connect with the community that you sir is a great way to foster positive public relations. Position Paper 2: Breaches of Ethics

          If there was a reason for checks and balances, ethical breaches seem like a good one. According to Merriam Webster, ethics is defined as, “the principles of conduct governing an individual or a group”. Ethics are often believed to be what keeps people held to a certain standard. Whether the breach is of personal client information, devious and intentional shortcuts made by companies for their benefits, or a flat-out Ponzi scheme. These sorts of incidents not only stand to damage the credibility of the companies or individuals involved, but also innocent people who find themselves at a loss due to the unethical dealings of others.           Earlier this year, in May 2021, both Bill and Melinda Gates took to the internet to announce their decision to end their marriage. Position Paper 1: Crisis Public Relations

 Public relations scandals or crises are not something that companies ever want to encounter but they should always be prepared for how they would deal with them should they arise. This is important because the way that they respond will be etched into the minds of many.  Companies should be retaining as many customers as possible while also ensuring that they learn from their mistakes and use them to make their companies stronger and more aware.  In February of 2019 Gucci, the designer retail brand, found itself trending for all the wrong reasons after people took to the internet to voice their displeasure for a new sweater being advertised and sold. The sweater was solid black with a neck that up and cover the model’s mouth, with a whole left her lips to stick through. Her actual lips were sitting inside of another large set of lips in red.
